How to Maintain Tablet Press

 

1. Maintenance of the turntable

 

Cleaning the residual powder on the turntable of the tablet compression machine is an important daily maintenance work, which helps to ensure the normal operation of the equipment, prevent cross contamination, and ensure the quality of the tablets.

 

Here are the specific steps to clean the residual powder on the turntable:

Remove the mold: Make sure the equipment has stopped running and cut off the power to ensure safety. According to the instructions of the tablet press machine operation manual, correctly disassemble the upper and lower punches and the middle mold of the tablet press to facilitate cleaning of the turntable.

 

Take out the tool box that comes with the machine and take out the cleaning tools inside, which include a soft brush, a non-metallic scraper, a compressed air spray gun, a sieve ruler, and bring your own clean rags, white oil, disinfectant and a suitable cleaning solvent (usually ethanol).

Use a soft brush to brush away the powder residue on the surface of the turntable of tablet press machine and in the grooves of the middle mold, and use a compressed air spray gun to remove the powder residue in the grooves and corners of the turntable. Then wipe the turntable surface with 95% alcohol to remove more stubborn residues. Wipe the turntable with a disinfectant (such as 75% ethanol) to ensure thorough disinfection.

 

If the time interval between the production of the next batch exceeds 6 hours, the standard operation is to perform anti-rust treatment. Because most turntables are made of stainless steel or cast iron, it is recommended to spray an anti-rust agent on the surface of the turntable and ensure that the surface of the turntable has been thoroughly cleaned before anti-rust work.

 

After the cleaning work is completed, wipe the turntable dry with a clean rag and dry it naturally in a well-ventilated place. After the turntable is completely dry, carefully check the turntable for any cracks, damage or signs of wear.

First, disassemble the feeder. The first step is to separate the hopper and the feeder, remove it from the feeder, and pull out the powder cover. Loosen the screws on both sides of the feeder so that the entire feeder can be removed. Use a screwdriver to open the feeder cover and separate the top and bottom so that the inside and the feeding impeller can be cleaned.

3. Maintenance of upper punch, lower punch and middle die

According to the instructions of the equipment manual, knock the middle die out of the middle die hole on the turntable. The mold material of the tablet press is relatively special, hard, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant, and it is relatively simple to clean. The mold can be placed in an ultrasonic cleaning tank and soaked in 95% alcohol for cleaning to remove more stubborn residues.

 

If the removed mold needs to be replaced, or the mold needs to be stored for a long time, it is necessary to apply anti-rust oil after the mold is dried, and store it in a place at room temperature, and affix obvious labels and store it according to the machine model and tablet type. -

 

4. Inspection of the lubrication system

Lubrication is an important step to extend the service life of transmission gears, worm gears, bearings, main shafts and upper and lower pressure wheels. First, check for leakage in the lubrication system. Specifically, check whether there is leakage in the lubrication oil circuit, oil pipe, oil cup, oil control valve and other parts. The simple operation is to touch the possible leaking parts with your hand to feel whether there is oil overflow.

 

Then check whether the lubrication system is blocked. It is recommended to replace the oil control valve and other wearing parts every six months; check whether the oil pipe is bent or blocked to ensure that the oil circuit is unobstructed; check whether the oil level in the oil tank or oil cup is above the standard line. If it is insufficient, add new lubricant and add oil to the appropriate oil level.

 

Regularly change the quality of lubricant; first, take a small amount of lubricant and drop it on the oil absorbing paper to check whether the color of the lubricant is clear and transparent, and whether there are impurities or deterioration. According to different lubrication systems, replace different types of lubricants according to the maintenance manual of pill tablet pressing machine.

 

After the inspection, run the car empty to distribute the lubricant to each lubrication point to ensure the normal pressure and flow of the lubrication system.
